Just rented a great not-old-but-not-new Japanese movie: After Life. The Japanese title translates to "Wonderful Life", but the obviously are not going to release it in the US with that. The story is about the way-station between death and heaven. Without spoiling too much, the plot revolves around what it means to have a good life, an OK life, or a regrettable life. It's not about rapture and/or torment: it's about regular life. The depictions of Japanese life are spot-on, from what I know of Japan. The movie is well worth a rental if you're in the mood for a clear-headed look at spirituality and death.
