You want obsessive? Here's your obsessive. And it's updated every day, at least through the end of the year. Give this guy credit. FWIW, I often find things on his personal ten-best list that are worth buying.
Update: The list has gotten so long he had to split it into two. At some point it becomes uselessly large, but I have no suggestion on how it can be made better. A best-of-the-best is kind of silly, because that is just an amplification of his own views. Few of the items on the list could go into sub-categories because the vast majority of the list is "best albums". If you have ideas on how he can improve the list, add them to his comments.

Update a year later: Yes, you could have guessed that he would do it again for 2007. There are some nuggets here for those of us who only catch up with new albums once a year.
